이 작업은 한국 근현대사의 정치 사회적 사건을 기록하고 있는 80컷의 슬라이드 필름과 어두움. 그리고 25초 간격으로 재생되는 심장 박동 소리로 구성되어 있다. 슬라이드 프로젝터가 25초 간으로 7컷의 필름을 비추고 나면, 5초간의 암흑 같은 어둠과 정적이 이어지며, 어둠 속에서 25초간 심장 박동 소리가 이어진다. 어두움과 정적 속에서의 25초는 사람들이 일반적으로 가장 심리적 긴장을 느끼게 되는 시간적 공간이라는 통계를 이용했으며, 정치 사회적 사건들로 인식되는 한국 근현대사에 묻혀 버린 수많은 사람들의 역사를 심장의 박동 소리로 상징하려 했던 작업이다.

 

This work was composed of 80-frame slide films which showed political and social incidents in modern Korea, with darkness, and with the heartbeat reviving in every 25-second interval. After the slide projector presents seven frames in a 25-second interval, pitch darkness and tranquillity comes for five seconds, and then the heartbeat is heard in the darkness for 25 seconds. I used the statistic that 25 seconds in darkness and tranquillity is the psychologically tensest time for human beings. Also i intended to use heartbeats to symbolize the history of myriad of people who were buried in the modern political turmoil in Korea.
