한 남자가 자신의 몸을 핥거나 물어뜯는 장면들을 느린 동작으로 편집한 <Skin Licks>와 가슴 부위를 할퀴고 쥐어뜯는 장면을 느린 동작으로 편집한 <Torn Flesh> 두 작품을 한 공간의 서로 다른 벽면에 투사한 작업이다. 원래 몸의 상처를 핥아 치료하는 동물들의 습성에서 아이디어를 얻었다. 이 작품들의 타이틀은 동명의 두 가지 영화 Hollywood Horror movie <Torn Flesh>와 porno movie <Skin Licks>에서 따왔다. 이 영화들이 상업성을 전제로 한 공포와 성적 자극을 목적하는 반면 이 작품들은 자학과 자위, 성적 이미지로부터 고통을 향하고 있다. 나는 몸을 욕망과 그 욕망의 실현이 좌절되어 굴절된 심리의 장소로 이해한다.

In this work I use two projections on two different walls in one space. In the first projection, someone licks and bites his flesh. In the second, he pinches and tears at the flesh on his chest in slow motion. The idea came to me while watching animals who help cure their own wounds by licking them. The images suggest masochism, masturbation, and sexual pain. I see in the work desires of the flesh deceived by their own realization.
