햄버거와 담배를 먹고 피우는 과정이 몇 부분의 slow motion을 제외하고는 실시간으로 편집되어, 두개의 서로 마주보는 벽면에 대형화면으로 프로젝션 되었다. 이 작업은 작가 자신의 퍼포먼스를 스스로 촬영한, 입을 모델로 한 두 번째 비디오로 뉴욕의 P.S.1 Show를 위해 준비된 것이었다. 이 비디오들은 반문화적 제스처들과 자극적 성적 암시 등, 공격적이고 과장된 서사성을 노골적으로 표면화하고 있으나, 입 주변에만 한정되어 클로즈업된 대형화면들의 정교한 프로젝션과 증폭된 사운드가 16분 53초 동안, 그리고 끊임없이 반복되면서, 관람자들로 하여금 표면의 서사들 보다 생리적 활동에 대한 더욱 큰 역겨움을 갖게 만든다.

 

This work was shown at the Clocktower Gallery in New York for the National and International Studio Artists Show of the P.S.1 Museum in June 1997. Originally, I intended to present these two images facing each other on two walls. But the space of the clocktower Gallery didn't allow it and I had to install them side by side on one wall.This is the second of the "Mouth" series. The motifs, a Mcdonald hamburger, a Coca cola, and Marlboro lights cigarette, represent American culture, a portion of which I have experienced in my New York life. I intentionally created raw, even crude feelings by combining unpleasant actions and sensual motions.
